Dr. Luxford was born, raised, educated and still living and working within a 40-mile radius of downtown Los Angeles. His father, a chiropractor, and mother, who developed bilateral severe/profound hearing loss at an early age led him to medicine and the field of otolaryngology.

After working with House group physicians during his residency, Dr. Luxford decided to complete a fellowship in neurotology at House Clinic and Institute. He joined the group shortly thereafter, helping Dr. William House expand his cochlear implant research as a treatment for deafness in adults and children. Over the years. Dr. Luxford has had the opportunity to provide care for adults and children with a variety of problems related to hearing or balance. One of his great pleasures is seeing patients he carried into the operating room as infants to return to see him as university graduates.

House Clinic, their physicians, and their service of restoring hearing to us who cannot hear otherwise is not just another PIH doctor's office. They are unique, specialized, and perform miracles for us. Don't ever absorb them into the blob of general medical care. Treat them with special consideration for the great job they do. Let it be known by their well-known name "House Clinic", not PIH Health. I regret that they got taken over by a huge medical enterprise, but you can allow them to keep their pristine image, and even burnish it also.

I would just like to say that the service and care that I got from Dr. Luxford and his staff was excellent and he was very helpful. Phone calls made and left voice message to set up an appointment were ignored and never answered. When finally got through to the office, the time for the appointment verbally given did not match the phone message reminding of an appointment. Since the office does not respond to calls or voicemail I felt callling to confirm the appoint was a waste of my time. When leaving the appointment and tired to make an appointment for the next visit in 6 mos. was not possible. I can make appoints with all the doctors that I have in the Burbank area. In fact, I can make appointments online. Having a hearing problem this makes my life so much easier. I feel there needs to be much improvement with reaching the office for appointments and returning voice messages.

The service was extremely good with Dr. Luxford. He was very reassuring. He does a great job. He's very competent. He gave me some tremendous suggestions about how to try to maintain my ear health and he gave me some really good pointers relative to that. I really like the man very much and I'm going to be a patient of his probably the rest of my life because he does a tremendous service for me without very much pain and without any difficulty and his staff was very good as well. The experience with Dr. Luxford was very, very good. However, that said, the telephone experience in making the appointment and in getting there and trying to deal with getting started, no one was helpful and it was very difficult to try and get through to figure out where I was supposed to go and what I was supposed to do. I Had my hearing tested and the follow up meeting with the surgeon who did my initial cochlear implant Both times, all my concerns and questions were listened to carefully And addressed. I had enough information and feedback to make informed decisions.

The appointment was hard to make since they required two more authorization codes. I had infection in my ear but by the time I got the authorization they required, two weeks had been passed by. If they can somehow make it easier and quicker to make an appointment, there would not be anything more for improvements. Dr Luxford is a awesome doctor who explained everything I needed to know.

The doctor would not answer any of our questions, leaves us with unanswered questions, has not given us a prognosis or any reasonable kind of action plan to get any kind of health care. We are left very uncomfortable. We don't know what kind of care we're getting. We don't know what our situation is after the surgery, and I don't know where to move forward with my treatment. I am very dissatisfied with the doctor, his staff, and the unprofessionalism of the entire PIH Health Network.

I thought Dr. Luxford and all the staff at PIH were amazing. I tried to press four, but it accidentally pressed two. So like basically four I meant for all the prompts. But he was great. I arrived 315 for my 330 hearing test and was seen within 10 minutes. The audiologist said there was wax in one ear that would invalidate the test so I walked to the House office and Dr. Luxford saw me in 5 minutes to remove the wax! Had the hearing test and went back to Dr. Luxford. A very positive experience.

And he's always there to help me, and he has helped me a lot, so I don't struggle as much as I did before I had him. I don't think there was enough attention paid to one of my main complaints. Which resulted in me getting an ear infection. I had to call the office and speak to a different doctor about my symptoms. This is poor practice and should have been handled differently.

Dr. Luxford was very patient with me and my husband and answered all our questions. He was very professional, interested in why I was there and what I had to say and provided excellent advice and written information. I was able to get an appointment on very short notice (one day ahead request). Dr. Luxford was genuinely glad to see me on this short notice. His assistant was extremely nice and helpful as well. The office staff was very helpful, polite and friendly. Also, when I called on Wednesday to get an appointment on Thursday or Friday because I was leaving on a long trip, the individual helping me was gracious and made every effort to get me in. I very much appreciate the excellent care I received from everyone involved in my care.

My experience was excellent when I went to see Dr. Luxford. There was a homeless person down close to the door and I indicated I was a little nervous about going down, and Dr. Luxford walked me all the way to my car, down the elevator and out to my car. I think that's very, very, very above and beyond. His office staff was excellent. They came out and sat with me when I was doing some paperwork and very helpful making my appointment.

Dr luxford performed my surgery in 06 he is a kind, sincere, caring individual. The office staff is always professional friendly and very helpful! I travel from Las Vegas to see him because he is so thorough in his examination , always informs me exactly what's going on and is extremely caring. Doctors like him are hard to find ....actually they don't exist anymore most of them are in embarrassment to the profession....as more Medical offices are being taken over by large companies the professionalism and the caring aspect has totally disappeared. It's all about making money not helping people.....: A sad commentary for people who go into the profession wanting to care for others and they are inhibited by doing so by the processes and procedures of large companies only out to make money!!!!

Waited over an hour to see Dr. Luxford. He spent about 7 minutes with me, was uninterested in the connection of my symptoms to Covid, and dismissively handed me a pamphlet. I purposely chose to go to a specialist outside my network because I thought he would go more in depth about things, or at least care. This was a colossal waste of time and money.

Waiting for an hour and a half in the waiting room and another half hour in an examining room is beyond belief. Whoever does the scheduling for Dr. Luxford has to understand that this is unacceptable. Being a doctor myself I understand that you need to spend more time with some patients. My visit only took 15 minutes with the doctor but waiting for 2 hours for the very valuable 15 minutes is very difficult for a 100 year old man.

I felt dismissed by this provider. He had already decided that he could not or would not be able to help me before I entered the clinic.
